IT for Democracy

LK Advaniji on a Laptop

In most of my speeches during the current election campaign I have been referring to the BJP’s Information Technology Vision, and trying to explain to the people how this latest gift of man’s ingenuity in the field of science has presented our country with a unique opportunity to overcome the many daunting challenges in socio-economic development.

The BJP’s IT Vision, we have promised the people, will help India (a) overcome the current economic crisis; (b) create productive employment on a large scale; (c) accelerate human development through vastly improved and expanded education and healthcare services; (d) check corruption and (e) make India’s national security more robust.

This week when I addressed a massive meeting at India’s principal IT Centre Bangalore, I recalled how for ages now the biggest invention in the history of science has been supposed to be the WHEEL. I observed that based on what we have been witnessing and experiencing in the past two decades, it would have to be acknowledged that the COMPUTER CHIP has displaced the Wheel!

An extremely interesting book I have come across lately is one titled 1000 Years 1000 people. The book is not just a compilation of names of the thousand leading persons of the last millennium; it actually has done a meticulous ranking of the men and women who shaped the millennium.

Five Key criteria selected for the grading of these one thousand are: lasting influence, contribution to wisdom and/or beauty, influence on contemporaries, singularity of contribution and charisma.

Ranked as Number One in this list is Johannes Gutenberg, who invented the Printing Press in 1430s. The thousand names include 13 Indians. The first name among these is that of Mahatma Gandhi. He has been ranked 12th.

What I regarded as remarkably relevant to the context of this blog is the preliminary comment the authors have made on the chapter dealing with the emergence of the computer. The preamble reads:

“Previous generations went gaga over the telephone, over the automobile, over plastic, over atomic power, over television, over space travel. All were huge leaps in the technology that transformed our lives. But none ushered in–dare we use the metaphor?–a new millennium. Computers are different. They are more important than any of the above. Bigger even than the automobile. More far - reaching in their ultimate impact on civilization, perhaps, than the printing press itself.

“if we could declare one soul to be the creator of the computer, the Great Pilot of the Age of the Internet, we might have to bump Gutenberg from our number 1 spot to make room” (italics added).

The reason why the computer could not displace the printing press in the ranking was that as many as some five persons would have had to share that top position. The authors add here; “So pause with us to salute John Bardeen, the transistor meister; Robert Noyce, the chip champion; Stephen Wozniak, the PC pioneer, Seymour Cray, the computer superman; and David Packard, the computer supersalesman.”

Around the time India got independence, for many young men Marxism had great attraction. It was precisely during this period that my fondness for books made me read two brilliant books of fiction by George Orwell Animal Farm and 1984. Both were devastating denunciations of the concept of the Marxist state. In Animal Farm, a group of Bolshevik style pigs capture a farm. The story that follows is deeply disturbing. It is this Orwellian tale that carries the famous aphorism: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. The second book 1984 is about a totalitarian state controlled by an all knowing Big Brother. Central to the success of this despotic state was what we now know as Information Technology. Orwell conceived of an instrument called the telescreen, a wall-sized flat panel display that could simultaneously send and receive images from every household in the state to a hovering Big Brother.

The concept has been scientifically realised. The P.C. has made the telescreen come true. But the consequence has been quite the contrary of what Orwell feared. Instead of Big Brother watching every citizen in the State, it is the citizen, who through the P.C. and Internet is able to watch their rulers more closely than ever before.

I have no doubt that IT is progressively going to become an increasingly powerful tool for Democracy, as it has already become for election campaigning”.

Very aptly put in the blog….like any invention, IT has massive uses which outnumber the misuses clearly. Its uses in delveloping India can be multifold. For a common man, a simple thing like booking train/bus/air tickets which used to be a pain earlier has now become so simple..these small things make us feel like we are truly developing like a country as the common man gets to do things in a way which is better and more friendly like old times. If we talk about rural healthcare, weather inputs to farmers, education in villages…IT has the potential to reach out to people where actual development of schools, hospitals has not happened. The key is to fully leverage the potential it holds. I am sure with the NDA’s track record of development, India will see massive strides in becoming a developed nation in true sense.

I still remember you promising for commendation.

I am a poor hindu and I lost my seat to a less marks person.I dont see a clear reason to vote in favour other then “congress is worst then BJP”.

I heartily appreciate the BJP’s Information Technology Vision being from the IT background. But my very concern is for the fresh recruiters of these BLUE CHIP companies.

Dear Advani Ji, there are thousands of freshers from various IT companies who have been waiting for there joining calls .

They have been waiting for their joining since 10-12 months. The families of these freshers has been worried and even the people who are directly or indirectly related to them.

THIS IS ONE OF THE CORE ISSUE WHERE THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED SEVERELY,BOTH MENTALLY AND ECONOMICALLY.

There are number of reputed IT companies in INDIA that had recruited thousands of student on the campus placement but now they are playing with their careers by delaying the joining process for about 10-12 months.

No wonder I am among those only who have been waiting.

we need IT for future growth and vision.we have our beloved mr.apj abul kalam azad have vision for 2020.we want India to be a super power.so we need IT and for that we want all our youth power to be energised.

    Dear Advaniji,

I am sad and also pleased equally to be part of the blog readers of your writings. Sad because I missed all the previous sections of your writings until today. Happy being it makes me proud to be able to read your blogs.

I agree with your ideas on IT democracy. IT industry it being a service sector may contribute less to environmental problems now (it may cause more or less same amount of environmental degradation in the long run, though) and IT democracy is going to be a sure way to economic development of India.

And may I request you to add Transparency on the top of your blog in addition to governance…. We all know India is one of the countries which doing very badly in governance today.

Let us all hope we see the change in the coming elections,

All the very best to you,

    Warm regards,
    Rama

  7. yadab Says:

I agree to you Leader (you are our leader)!! Until the era of Internet, message board, blog or whatever you call, gives us unlimited power of expression. And power of expression of every individual is important in democracy as well as fundamental right. These days, since media is biased over political party or opinion, IT plays a major role. At least the fact that, I am able to support your thoughts, just here, just now. Though you have a lot of good vision for such ambitious targets, and it is hard, but media is running after the useless fact of you being secular or not. I hope the 2014 / 2020 election will be fought over INTERNET and we will be able to read the news and facts to decide upon our political parties since they will be no able to push information to us. We will pull information from it. So the monopoly of evil power ends there.

    Advani Sir,

First Myself aged 34 MBA Commerce graduate from corner of country Assam

What BJP is doing is great since it was in power but few changes are required like
Projection and style difference is required.

As popularly said “Leaders dont do different things but do things differently.”.

That is what required at present from BJP
If you want to defeat Competitor weaken the strength of Competitor

I may not be as learned as you all are but think in a different way what is required to be done.

May be some other time I will mail you.

  10. kharerakesh Says:

    Respected Advani Ji,
Sir, it is my family’s earnest desire that you come back in Power as Prime Minister. I am a strong advocate of BJP’s ideology. In the past I have always voted in BJP’s favour because I have always felt that BJP would definitely take the country to greater height’s in respect of :
    1. Development of the country
    2. Upliftment of the poor, the downtrodded one’s.
    3. Advocating increased use of IT in all the sphere.
Sir, with the help of IT & computers etc. no doubt the use of Electronic Machines has to a great extent avoided the chances of false voting. But Sir, what about voting through Internet i.e On-line voting similar to the opinion polls in existence. If On-line voting is introduced I am hopeful that voting percentage would increase and many of the already registered voters who are not voting may be prompted to vote and this would increase the chances of fair polling.

Still there is no telicast of live speech of mr. Advani on major channels like ndtv, aajtak or times now. Also plz. Tell “loudly” some development initiatives that ur govt. Will take. I’ll like to hear interlinking of rivers project. I would like that after a few years children study how Advani solved the problem of drought and floods in whole country.

  16. nacram Says:

What you say is very true. E-governance is something that can bring about a lot of transparency and efficiency. Gujarat has done very well in this regard.

  17. SushJ Says:

    Dear Mr Advani,
BJP should’ve highlighted KANDAHAR. Yes, BJP should’ve highlighted KANDAHAR and that too in a big way. I know you would be surprised. But I sincerely feel that this could’ve been used to influence the public opinion on the emotional issue of J&K as well as security of the country in general.
To begin with we first have to appreciate the fact that the hijack itself was not the fault of BJP. The plane was hijacked from Nepal. So, if there was a security lapse it was not their fault. Also, it needs to be clearly understood that Kandahar happened because of mishandling of the Kashmir issue by successive Congress govts for over 50 years. That’s the moot point. The BJP govt was a victim of the misdeeds Congress and had to pay a very heavy price for the same. It was the Congress not BJP which failed in Kashmir for more than 50 years. This is the point which should’ve been highlighted to inform the voters of the role of Congress in this affair.

  18. SushJ Says:

Also, please note that it’s so very easy to blame BJP for releasing those terrorists but I would like to ask those who do so to put themselves in shoes of BJP and then decide. On one hand you had families of those 189 passengers crying their hearts out and requesting govt to help them and on the other you had three terrorists who were potential threats to the country, as they later proved to be. At that moment if BJP decided to save lives of it’s countrymen, all I can say is that they did it with all their sincerity and with no malice in their hearts. Also, they did not care for any future political repercussions which might come to haunt them time and again (As has been done repeatedly by Congress in the past and is even being used in current campaigning quite regularly).

  19. SushJ Says:

Even P Chidambaram, our Home Minister has said that if he were to be in that position in 1999 he would not know how to react (You can read his views in The Economic Times dated 23 Jan 09). This point should’ve been used by BJP to counter the claims made by various leaders of Congress.

  20. SushJ Says:

Another thing which could have been done was that those passengers in the flight should have been requested to make an appearance on the media, together. These people could surely be asked to narrate the horrific incidents once again in front of the media. They could also thank the BJP for saving their lives in the manner that they did. I’m telling you, it would’ve changed the whole perception of the way people view the Kandahar episode today. TV and newspapers are a very strong medium. The live telecast of such an event would’ve shaken the nation in general and Congress in particular which keeps ridiculing BJP on this issue as if it was their (Congress’s) favourite past time. Also, the Congress party would’ve been taught a good lesson in a manner which they richly deserve to be. But why wasn’t it done? I really don’t know. May be you can do it now. I really hope they do. It’s never too late to act.

  21. Rohitgupta Says:

BJP is the first party to launch a website and also a IT vision for india.

I totally agree with advani ji that computer is the biggest invention after wheel.

Best of luck for the remaining phases.

    Rohit

  22. rakeshsingh21 Says:

    Advani Jee Namaskar
Whenever I watch any news-channel in india it seems that the BJP is really bad party, and Hindus always blamed. Actually the fact is other way round. Same time BJP has many areas where it ignore or do not put enough attention as it should have. Take the example of dealing media, I would say BJP is below average or poor dealing media. I don’t see the organized and collective actions to correct the BJP image in media. Advani jee please take my humble request to form a young enthusiastic talented team to deal with present media.

Another example, you will find plenty of Hindi or other language movies where directly or indirectly Hindu org. shown wrong. Why can’t a Hindu make movie which show the true picture of Hindus? Again making request to you that when you get time to talk to the producers, financers please request them to present true picture of Hinduism and do not hurt the hindu sentiments.

  23. Avinash1972 Says:

    Dear Mr Advaniji,

I am hearing from opposition party about failure of NDA on the issue of Kandahar plane hijack issue. I want to highlight this issue in different angle to you.
Mainly there is no interconnection of the talented people in India with the government and security forces.
When the above attack and Mumbai terrrorist attack happened I called as well as mailed our security organsation and ministries for very good method to counter-attack and catch them alive but nobody played attention to it.
I suggested to induce a gas like chloroform, which can give temporary anesthesia to the terrorists and hostages which can make them catch alive but nobody gave attention to it. This trick was very nice and I requested that should be kept secret but now I am unable to write it on blog.
Please pay attentions to read your blog carefully and your direct mails which can be useful for growth of the nation.
    Regards,
    Avinash

  24. Rahul Sharma Says:

We should also be spend in setting up IT Infrastructure and work towards seamless transformation into E-Governance. But another threat to our national security is illegal immigration from our Eastern borders. We seem to have identify the problem but doesn’t seem to have any solution. We can take up task of issuing National Identity card and ensure the social security. Why can’t India have a database of all its citizen. Why can’t we issue a national social security number instead of birth certificate. Agriculture is biggest sector and we need not forget our farmers. We need to work towards social security, pension plans of the farmers to give them confidence and need to stand by them. Irrigation facility is not up to date in India. We also need to develop power sector. You would be amaze to know that in Manipur, power supply per day is mere 5 hours in the capital town Imphal.

  25. BJPfor2009 Says:

    Hi Advaniji
I’m hope BJP comes to power in 2009.
I think all the leaders in BJP have the right ideas and will lead the country successfully on all issues.
There is just one issue I want you to reconsider:
It is very good that you are building a temple in Ayodhya on Ram Janmabhoomi - that land is very auspicious to the Hindus and all of us will love to have a magnificent temple there. However, the Muslims somehow feel cheated that it is being built on a land where their loved Babri Mosque once stood. Why don’t you do this:
Make a magnificent temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Also about 50-100 km from Ayodhya, build a magnificent mosque - a substitute for the Babri Mosque that once existed. You will gain the blessings of Hindus and Muslims both.
I know Babur demolished a Ram temple and built the Babri Mosque there. But that was 500 years ago. Let’s have a big heart. Let’s build a Ram temple and a mosque too.
    Thanks
Wishing the best for BJP and India
    Well-wisher

    Advaniji,

First of all my hearty Pranams to you.

Before talking, let me introduce myself. My name is shiva vaidyanathan and am living in the United States.

The one thing that always bothers me about our mother India is CORRUPTION CORRUPTION CORRUPTION. It really troubles me a lot and frankly speaking, I don’t know how to control it.

In this blog, you said you will ‘check corruption’. Just wondering how practical it is? What steps you want to take to eradicate this disease that India faces? I know you will be having your thoughts on it, possible please share.

I wish I could see NDA rule as I really thought under Vajpayeeji you all did a great job last time around.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to present myself here

    Regds
    Shiva Vaidyanathan.

  27. AnirudhGoel Says:

IT can solve problems but it cannot take away corruption.
I am a tax payer, I am in Chandni Chowk, I do 100% of my business in cheque. I pay VAT, I pay income tax, I pay FBT, I am paying all taxes and am never left with enough for myself and my family.
Over 50% of Chandni Chowk is getting away without paying taxes as the unions are so strong that you also cannot question them, force them to pay taxes as then you may not come back to power in the next election.

  28. AnirudhGoel Says:

You talk about IT, but you like all other politicians are not exactly working for the people.
SMALL steps are needed to make the people strong but you also are not interested in the small people and them being strong.
You talk about corruption, is the BJP clean, YES as compared to others BUT is that a benchmark?
I am 1 of the 3% population that pays tax and the other (atleast 7%) don’t.
If you were to fall sick, I end up paying for your medical bills, I get a tax relief of Rs.15000.00 per annum to pay for my medical bills. My father today is paying over Rs.20000.00 towards medical bills and am sure it will go up with age.

  29. AnirudhGoel Says:

Hospital (more like hotels now) increase their fee every year by atleast 10%, pharmaceutical companies increase the prices for medicines every year, but do you know for how long the limit of Rs.15000.00 has been there? Can I afford to pay more? With this limit what can I get?
Insurance companies are ready to take my money till I am 55 and healthy, thereafter they are ready to deny me the insurance, the courts say its illegal, but with all due respect to the courts, what good are they when the companies employee lawyers who find the loopholes and deny me the basic insurance for which I have been paying over the years.

  30. AnirudhGoel Says:

I am disgusted with the fact that there are no laws for us to lead a peaceful life, there is only pleasure for the political parties and politicians at our cost.
A penny for your thought, Mr. Rahul Gandhi (as far as I remember) filed papers stating assets of Rs.22 Crores, in 2004 it was about 2 Crores.
If you were to come to power will you investigate how this happened, I have not been able to add even 30% to my asset base in 5 years and he (while his party was in power) has been able to increase his assets 10-11 times.
Would you make a commitment to investigate the same? Would you like me to believe that you are not just another liar, cheat. (please do not take this negatively, I have full respect for you, presently only because of age, not as a politician).

  31. AnirudhGoel Says:

I am ready to take on the burden of the poor people to the best that I can, but not at my cost and certainly not to make other politicians rich.
I am and will continue to pay my taxes righfully and not cheat on them but can you promise that I would not be forced to pay bribes for something which I am legally right.
Will you promise to plug the loop holes in the systems, and for a change make the big corporations pay rather than just us, we are not given any tax breaks as compared to the companies under different heads.
Are they better than us? Are they entitled to get more tax breaks than us? Are they so strong that the IS/ IPS/ or other officers want to help them and make us suffer.

Indian Muslim for PM of India and CM of Tamil Nadu in next 10 years - Is it possible ?. - Part 1

To break the second class citizen mentality, Indian Muslims should think about making Muslim candidates as PM of India and CM of Tamil Nadu in next 10 years:

Just look at the elections. Everyone takes Muslims for a ride. Muslim vote bank is becoming irrelevant in the win/loss of a candidate. 250 million Muslims are standing as silent spectators expecting that a great saviour will emerge one day from nowhere, pull them out of their political “shutradom”, and will put them on par with other political Brahmans.

If someone says that a Muslim can become the next CM of Tamil Nadu in less than 10 years, it will sound like some sort of travesty and blasphemy on Indian politics. It is just impossible for 20% Indian Muslims to make a Muslim candidate as the next CM of Tamil Nadu, even if they vote en masse.

  35. R.Alamsha Karnan Says:

Indian Muslim for PM of India and CM of Tamil Nadu in next 10 years - Is it possible ?. - Part 2

It is definitely possible if they can send the right message to the 80% Hindus and win their support. If Muslims can think about the magic formula required to win the support from 80%, it will automatically push them out of second class mentality.

Is it possible?. What Indian Muslims should do to make a Muslim as the next CM of Tamil Nadu and PM of India?.

We use to write election ID cards for BJP and distribute them, stick posters, hoardings, especially late at night. It feels great to have done for a party like BJP.

I would like to see you as the next PM of India. Would want you to bring change in field of IT which can also help build strong national security with advanced technologies.

I understand that I am too too amateur to give my suggestions before the experienced party. But I shall be highly thankful, if you may kindly have a look at a little request from this well-wisher.

Most neighbours of our country are going through troubled times, and at this moment India direly needs a strong, nationalist, “swadeshi” government… I feel these points need to be highlighted more in campaigns.
The campaigns are almost over… but yet there is time… the people should realize which government they need to choose in order to safeguard the national security.

I’m sorry for taking your time at this busy hour, but I honestly want a strong government and therefore felt the need to send this appeal to you.

With sincere thanks and best regards,
    Kushal.

  38. shiladitya Says:

We have database of total voter with election commissioner. The smallest elected representative is the panchayat pradhan, ward councilor. The electoral of that small area are represented by that elected representative. We need a web based management system where, when citizen call for a problem with voter no, the call is written and mapping with the local representative bucket. The representative could be in touch with electoral directly and try to resolve the same or forward the issue with comments to MLA or MP Bucket.

  39. shiladitya Says:

The system allows comments of representative to recorded as dialogue to a local issue and where the solution lies. The citizen could have status of issue through toll free no all the time. The going for centralized system can give all the representatives directly people thought and immediate representative thought at ground from top of the political hierchy. It will give the IT sector a boost as to implement that would huge manpower to map the largest democracy.

  40. nirax Says:

    Dear Sir,

I wish you all the best in this election. I hope that you will become PM. I like you vision document for IT and your concern for democracy. However I would like to ask you this - what use is democracy if people do not bother to vote.

One of the day you said that you are in favor of electoral reforms. You did not articulate what specifics you meant by that. But I understand that having better political parties and ‘compulsory voting’ should be part of any such reforms.

    continued …

  41. nirax Says:

On the second issue let me say that however much I wish to flog the people who do not vote, it is likely to backfire. A much more constructive approach is to give a income tax exemption of 10% to those tax payers who vote (only in the year of elections, not every year). Implementing such a thing is not very far fetched if we can utilize IT effectively. There can be several ways of implementing it. Maybe we can give tax exemption to all employees of any residential corporation (either PSU or large private companies) if they meet the expenses of polling booth inside their campus and convince their employees to vote such that it registers more than 90% polling. This is one of the way to do that. I am sure if we want to implement such a thing many more creative ideas will emerge.

    continued …

  42. nirax Says:

On the first issue, the issue of better political parties. I feel our politics is of such a nature that it encourages leaders to defect and form a new parochial party or enter some other party. I feel that this is due to lack of internal democracy in parties. If we force all new entrants of a party to be approved by the cadres of the party by a anonymous election, then all such things will vanish overnight. We can also force parties to choose candidates for a constituency after conducting an internal election by the cadres, rather than being nominated by the ‘high command’. This will reduce the number of break away factionalists and also keep the disgruntled loosers in check.

I hope to see you in New Delhi seat of power. I am looking forward to an era of development and “Suraaj”.

Democracy: Indian Minister uses his office and influence to formally inaugurate his private management institute in Dubai. Since this minister joined his office he planned to use his influence to make personal gain out of UAE market and extended his management institute branch. During his previous visit he managed to meet all the Sheikhs and obtain their blessings to start his institute branch. I am not sure what all he has exchanged for this personal favor. I can see one partnership for an upcoming Aluminum project in India. The great person is Mr. Kamalnath.

I believe BJP leaders to take it up as this cabinet minister must have signed a big favor in lieu of this personal benefit from UAE.

  44. balibose Says:

    Dear Sir,
I, as most people look upto you as our leader, who can save us from this quagmire of pseudo secularists and thieves like congress and communists.
However, I feel very sad to realise that you have absolutely forgotten West Bengal. This time, it was a golden opportunity - with people already fed up with the CPM and frustrated with Manata after the Nano fiasco, BJP would have been the most obvious alternative. We needed more focus on the campain from the party and some active leaders to carry the message.
Nevertheless, its still not too late to start.
    Looking forward.

Hi everybody, Information Technology (IT) is important now a days. It is also one of the thing to develop India. get online live updates on 2009 Indian general elections and Indian Assembly elections 2009 at “Altius Directory”.

Get live updates on winners, national parties and about local parties at “Altius Directory”

  46. am_desh Says:

Use IT not only to reach voters before elections, but to let them reach government in 5 yrs after the elections.

  47. am_desh Says:

I shall not comment on IT. I would like to take this opportunity to comment on Shri Shatrughna Sinha’s press statement that appeared in today’s papers about forming a government with congress. This thought thad occured to me only the day before yesterday and I was discussing this with friends. The blackmailing small parties can be taught lesson only with this method. The modalities for forming and running a government can be well set by mututal agreement as both the parties have sacrificed their core issues in the past to form a coalition government.
KINDLY GIVE THIS A THOUGHT LALJI AND ONLY YOU COULD DO THIS.

Dear Advanji I was extremely disappointed. Even though I am not a BJP supporter I am upset.Winning and loosing is part of political life but the hardwork is extremely missing in the southern states. When BJP came up the horizon during 90’s we saw a lot of hardwork in the party especially in all corners of Tamilnadu. But for quite some time almost 5 years, we are not seeing any activity by BJP in any part of the state. Infact Mr.Ganesan who is contesting has not visited any of the hindu dominated streets of Chennai. Why. what made him completely complacent. Like this we have not seen anycontact by BJP with all local people. Please do a complete analysis and try to put a road map for the next assembly elections scheduled and concentrate. pl do appoint hardworking people and make inroads of all parts of India which will be for the benefit for all sections of people. I long for that day. Good luck and I pray the almighty that BJP should come back

Today i noticed that a reason for BJP not winning is that no lobby in media(electronic and print) which actually portrays BJP’s ideology of nationalism to the country men, they are portraying BJP only as communal party. Please think of this when you do introinspection for the results.

Respected Sir, The results have brought a big shock millions and millions of your followers. This is the number game and nothing special can be attributed to this loss. Different people (media, so called intellectuals and surprisingly even some of the bjp men) are attributing this loss to one or the other factor. But the bottom line is that Indian masses are yet to evolve and mature enough to make a right decision. So no fault of yours or for that matter the party. You have served this nation for your life tirelessly and in a selfless manner. You are held in high esteem by millions. You already possess the goodwill which thousands of PMs dont. PM or no PM do not matter in your personality. You are an icon. India has seen people becomming PM overnight from nothing. So there is nothing special in being a PM. So please relax and continue guiding the people especially youth. There is a long dark tunnel and only the people like you can guide the nation towards the light. contdd..

Why Indians love, Italian born Sonia? - Part 1

The image of fair skinned people as a superior race was built by Brahmans in India. They are always proud of their association with whites (read US/UK/Europeans) and imitate their way of life. Most of the highly qualified Brahmans settle in US/UK, marry whites, and proudly talk about their US/UK citizenship. It’s a pride and social status to work for MNCs and our matrimonials have special adverts seeking alliance from US/UK settled brides and grooms, more than 90% from Brahman and high caste families.

Today, the majoriy Indian public also believes that a white lady /man from the US/UK/Europe is a God’s gift to mankind and it’s a pride and honour for India to have them as our PMs and Prseidents. Slavery is deeply etched in the minds of the public.

  57. R.Alamsha Karnan Says:

Why Indians love, Italian born Sonia? - Part 2

British transfered power to the Manuvadis in 1947. They have been ruling India since then and have completely screwedup the nation. What is their achievement ?. More than 70% of the population does NOT have access to toilet and clean water. We have no friends in the neighbourhood. Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal - all are enemies and perceived as a threat for India. But all these so called hostile neighbours are having friendly relationship and good ties among themselves.

Look at the rise of China. It has become the default regional superpower. Can we compete with China?. We are still bending our back and run after US for outsourced jobs. Why can’t we create our own jobs instead of taking jobs away from others?.

No wonder. Manuvadis have completely screwedup the nation and now blame others for their own fault.

  61. gauravlavania Says:

    Dear Advaniji,
First of all let me congratulate you on the election results. Yes, Congratulations. I have always felt that statesmen like you need to be the guiding forces behind the seat of power rather than sitting on the seat itself. I would rather that people like you be the Bheeshma Pitahmas of Indian politics. We badly need such people instead of the likes of rahul Gandhi at his age and experience trying to become the Bheeshma Pitahmas. While i certainly respect and appreciate what he has done, he yet has a long road to travel.
I would request you to now dwell on the state of the BJP. This was supposed to be a party with a difference. What happened?
    Regards
    Gaurav

  62. gauravlavania Says:

    Dear Advaniji,
You need to spear head change at the grass roots level. You need to ensure that the leaders who do rise to the top come from the ground. India badly needs a strong right of centre political party. The BJP is the best suited to provide that. Let the BJP be the new Conservative party of the UK or the Republican party of the US. If the Republican party can and does hold regular elections in the US for its party positions, i am sure the BJP can too. In fact it would be a true trend setter that would pressure all the other parties over a period of time.
You have single handedly introduced new lexicon to Indian politics. You need to do so much more than just be the Prime Minister of India.
Let’s begin with a proper election of the party president and the leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, through secret ballot that is genuine not just a face saver.
    Regards
    Gaurav

  63. joeantony Says:

    Adavni Ji,

Congratulations on your decision to lead BJP in the opposition, hadn’t you done that BJP could have broken in to pices. I think the few things you considered smaller to be ignored like pilibhit and mangalore has costed you heavily in this election. I like BJP for its democratical structure and disipline, that contrast itself from the corrupt dynasty politicians of congress and its allies. With having great party with good values and vision you are carrying a dead weight … call it hindutva, call it RSS, call it parivar.. these dead weights are dragging BJP time and again. The minorities and major junk of the majorities feel uneasy in supporting BJP because of these biggots who has noting to contribute to the party, they just cost losses. If you are reading this I think you will look in to trying from your end to pull out something that Atalji successfully did and won the confidence of people and throw congress from power. You can do it only if you wanted to.

    - Joe

    Namaskar Advaniji,
I am disappointed with the results but then we have to accept the verdict of the people and get ready for the next set of challenges that will come our way.
I am hoping that unlike 2004, BJP will do a cold blooded analysis of this defeat and plant the seeds immediately for lotus to bloom in 2014.I hope an appropriate platform will be provided for more leaders to emerge and steer the party in the right direction.
I commend you for your service to the nation.

  65. tsucheta Says:

    Dear Mr. Advaniji,

I am deeply saddened by the election results. If it is acceptable, I would like to voice my opinion on why it could have happened and how this can be repaired. As a common citizen, I would like to vote for good governance.

    1. From this election results it appears that BJP has highest number of elected members having criminal charges pending against them.
    2. I think lots of congress mis-deeds were not highlighted in this election. It will be ideal to chronicle all of them date wise with evidence to be put in front of people.
    3. Getting support of print media and television will be really essential.
    4. Talking about development issues and putting them in detail in front of people will be also a plus.
    5. Please set a quality threshold before taking people to join your party. Anybody and everybody if taken in will only create bad name.

With this I once again endorse you as our leader and please don’t get dis-heartened.

    Jai Hind

  66. gauravlavania Says:

    Dear Advaniji,
You seem to have gone silent. Please start writing again.
Let’s have a new beginning. For a start, can we have a pledge from BJP with you as its leader that for this entire 5 year session, none of your MPs will scream or shout in the Lok Sabha? Lets strive for a new BJP that stands for decency, morality and ettiquettes in public life, no matter how tempting the temptation to do otherwise.

    Shri Advani ji pranam,
I have some suggetion to turn bjp as party with the difference to u and if u feel that my suggestion have some potentiol than please place on pary meetings. And the suggestions are:
    1. dissolve all the commitees at root level
    2. start making new members
3.from new and old members commitees should be constructed at even ward/gram panchayat level.
    4. it should be mandatory to all members to invest 2hour in 6 days of a week for social work in welfare of the local area
    5. local commitee office should have some facility to the public such as health, legal, and other welfare programmes at charitiable type. and offcourse for this some doctors, lawyers and good local businessmans should be chosen as member of the party so that those members may help the party.

  70. ranu gupta Says:

    6. election should be held at root level and no office bearer should be chosen without election.
    7. for each and every elections of our system i.e. local panchayat electiion/municipality election, assembly election, parliamentary election every party candidate should be chose by internal election and this election should be held before three year of the election. so that every candidate would have enough time to reach his voter and to convince them.
    8. and the procedure of chosing candidates for the internals should be on gradual basis. mean if a member want to contest assembly election than he should first fight for local elections so that his face become more noticable to the voter of that area.
    9. in any case no member should be allowed to contest in any election more than two times. actually it will help to every member to persue his political carrier
    yours faithfully,
    Ranu Gupta

  71. Nimbadri Patlori Says:

    Dear Advaniji,

“Iam very much disappointed on hearing the Results’
But No problem you are our leader you should become the PM of India at any cost in next electiones.

Con gress won because of Minority vote bank policies and money power, un ethical policies
Loan waiver to farmers, huge salary hike to central and state govt employees, sachar committe implmtation for muslims in the time of elections.

You should stand again as a PM candidate from BJP.

The congress is ruling the country since last 50 years of Nehru and gandhi regime. they are only responsible for Poverty, corruption, bad governanc, red tapism and lazyness in the employees, over population,un ethical environment in the country. BJP should come again in to power .we all should keep congress and Gandhi family out of the power for at least 20 years. Then only country will be developed.

Pranams to you. I am from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. A great injustice is happening here by the Chennai Police.
Recently I ran to the Police station for help, because I was threatened by a wealthy man. But I was beaten and treated like an accused there. Till the end they never gave me a complaint receipt. Instead they got it from me in writing in favour of the opposite party. I gave a complaint about this to the Chennai Chief Commissioner about this on 10th of this month, but till now there is no action from them. I will be very grateful to you if you can forward this to an appropriate person and help me get justice.

You know why BJP had lost the election because BJP had no vision to fight in election. It talked to just bring down the computer price and ladli laxmi yojana. But it does’nt serve the purpose. Please do somthing concrete to stop this situation and let me tell you what things you have done after sitting in Opposition now what else we expect from you. PM talks about inclusive growth. What is inclusive growth ? Building, Roads, Hospitals, Public Utilities, Primary Schools, Universities, Or Giving Reservation (exclusively for Muslims) ? Is there any sane thinking left in this country ?

  84. Alternative Thinking Says:

Congress has ruined this country for long and Muslims have voted for the congress most of the time.Sachcher Committee and Rang Nath Mishra Committee has concluded that the Muslims are least developed. They have to ask each other for the answeres before they should ask for any reservation or special packages. My analysis is that Congress is a bad influance.
