U.P.A. AND LEMMINGS
At the valedictory session of the BJP National Executive in New Delhi last weekend, I referred to the Prime Minister’s comment about the opposition becoming impatient to see the UPA Government’s ouster in order to have an early poll. I said that in the country today, not only in the media, but also among the people, opinion is unanimous that the UPA. Government is in an unenviable mess. This fact is also widely recognised that the mess is of the Congress’s own making. I described the UPA Government as being ‘in a suicidal mode.’
I can never forget the six-seven months period just before the formation of the BJP in April, 1980. Before that we were part of the Janata Party. At that time I had said publicly about my own party that we are in a suicidal mood.
In one of the pieces I wrote those days I had referred to a Scandinavian rodent-like animal known as lemming. Ordinarily, I had written, only human beings are known to commit suicide. But lemmings are unique creatures.
Without rhyme or reason, large numbers of lemmings start marching towards the sea. Some swim and survive. Most die. These mass suicides of lemmings have long intrigued biologists. I wrote then that the Janata party seems to be “in the grips of a lemmings complex.” One can say the same thing about the UPA Government today.

In December 2001, the Law Commission of India published its 179th Report strongly recommending enactment of laws to provide protection to whistle blowers who expose corruption.
The 113 page report opens with a letter addressed to the then Law Minister, Arun Jaitley by the Commission Chairman, Justice B.P. Jeevan Reddy, in which he quotes Prime Minister Vajpayee affirming that the country’s attitude to corruption should be of “zero tolerance”. The Report has a couple of chapters describing in detail the kind of statutory protection given to Whistle Blowers in UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
On the basis of this Law Commission Report, the Manmohan Singh cabinet approved a Bill which protects Whistle Blowers and which in 2010 was formally introduced in the Lok Sabha by Personnel Minister, Prithviraj Chauhan. Presently this Bill is being considered by a Standing Committee of Parliament.
The Bill has not become law as yet. But the Cabinet having approved of it, Government should feel committed to its core principle.
Last week, accompanied by Arun Jaitley I visited the Tihar Jail to meet Sudheendra Kulkarni, a close associate of mine for many years, and two former Lok Sabha colleagues Kulaste and Bhagora who together had rendered a signal service to Democracy by blowing the whistle to expose how in 2008 crores were given as bribes to Lok Sabha MPs to cross vote in favour of the Congress, and enable UPA-2 to win a vote of confidence even after the Left Front had parted company with them. The Left Front had quit the UPA because of its opposition to the Indo-US nuclear deed. Along with Ashok Argal, the third BJP MP who was approached by the UPA, the three were offered 3 crores each, and paid Rs. 1 crore in advance.
The Hindu published a Wikileaks report showing that the Manmohan Government not only indulged in massive bribery to buy MPs to its side, but had no shame flaunting its dirty plans before U.S. Embassy officials only to reassure them that the UPA Government was not going to fall, and that the Indo-U.S. Nuclear deal will go through.
It is indeed shocking to find that the ruling party these days is exerting its utmost to protect corrupt ministers but has no qualms putting whistle blowers behind bars.

An organization which surveys the level of corruption in various countries of the world, computes a Corruption Perception Index for each country and publishes a comprehensive list every year is the TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL.
The CORRUPTION PERCEPTION INDEX assigns scores to countries on a scale of zero to ten, with zero indicating very high levels of corruption, and ten showing very low levels.
The list published for 2010 shows India’s score as 3.3, and out of 178 countries is ranked at a lowly 87th.
Three countries – Denmark, Singapore and New Zealand – have scored 9.3 and thus tied for first place in 2010’s List of 178 countries.
While Pakistan scoring 2.3, is 143rd in the List. Afghanistan, Burma and Somalia are the last three in ranking – 176, 177 and 178.
TAILPIECE
On September 30, the Congress President foisted a 2G Truce on the two senior-most ministers of the Union Government. That night when I switched on the TV I saw Salman Khurshid virtually jumping with joy shouting “All IZ WELL”, the punchline of a recent popular movie. Of the mediamen present on the spot, one told me later: from the media persons a voice was heard asking: “Salman Saheb, can you name the THREE IDIOTS?”

Advaniji, Very well said.. I really like the pinch of humor in the article.
October 4th, 2011 at 10:33 am
The arrest of Sudheendra Kulakarni and 3 other whistle blowers only shows that the UPA is pushed to the wall and they have been pushed to the wall. UPA has lost all credibility and has lost right to continue in the government. The only way for Dr.Manmohan Singh to keep his face is to immediately resign and come out of the UPA.
I have one question regarding the arrest of Kulkarni and others.
Is it not possible to file a PIL in the Supreme Court against the government?
October 8th, 2011 at 3:37 pm
Dear Advaniji,
I don’t Have other medium to contact you, please take it as a message from me,(A common citizen of India).
Advaniji you have worked a lot and continuing it to work for your country till the last breath, same time you have to maintain the responsibility as a leader of opposition, a party leader, a national leader, a national image and many more for various position and prospective.
Dear Advaniji You it better India is very large country by size and population, to take the control for ruling we need many more efficient and dynamic personals who loves their country and country people.
Once there was a time it seems that BJP was strong enough to control over India , but now it seems that BJP loosing its controls from many parts of India only staying in some states,
Ok For Some States it is OK, But while considering about National Party selection I don’ think BJP Looks As strong as the CONGRESS Looks, Its true and you have to accept this.

October 8th, 2011 at 3:58 pm
Dear advaniji while choosing your active workers, please consider some cases that , the candidate should not have a tendency to join party as a business, or job to gain monetary and other profit, to work for nation and people for nation should be main moto,
and you can choose some great teacher or some good engineers who are interested to work for india, but this should not make them feel as ( politics is the last choice of scroundals), some good doctors having great talent and being a good human being.
as per my knowledge in politics, people from junior level of politics learn how to betrey seniors and co-workers to take a upper seat. this concept should not be their and we need some selfishness less unmarried man.
October 8th, 2011 at 4:21 pm
advaniji you have to improve and restrcture your man power every party leading man dont have the capability to lead the nation, you have to choose the right candidate and always you should have a complete control over your candidate,

October 8th, 2011 at 4:22 pm
nehuru family was always rich and they just doing politics business, by taking photos with poor india people, india will not grow who will tell to rahil, gold rate is rising, dal is unnecessorily haigh from Rs. 30-70, with same petrol price $90 we are paying rs.25 more for petrol liter , to where these money are going or soniaji sending this to Italy, now a day even a person having 40K income hardly thinking about 2 kids,
No where house available below 30lakhs, Advaniji I dont know, Is this happening ing whole world or only in our nation, vagitable of any type were sold before below rs. 10. but every thing is above Rs. 20, why, after giving subsid to farmers rice price goes up to 18-25 for low standard rice. previously for many years it was below 10 or 8.
If we are suffering due to some foreign ecomnimist(USA) rule and economics policy go to hell this economist policy, we were happy with our economy.
why these gold rate are increasing from 7k to 27k,
October 8th, 2011 at 4:47 pm
whether USA going to take control over the world,
How the village people will make money to survive, or every one will become laborer and will come to town for searching a job, wheat kg become 18-20 after giving extra amount for wheat at Punjab previously it was below 10 now it became 20, how many gainers and how many suffers, who are planning to give rice at rs.2 per kg by spending our money, uncivilized people.
police works for money and politicians only, why every works are not maintaining computerized, why anna will ask to pass the bill, why 95% of IAS officers are not good for country, they are working hard to get into the office and they and their family enjoy the facility like a king. Why Full Person Identification Program is not running , why the properties of each person is not maintain from a date ( for bank , assets and all)

Dear Advaniji,
This is with regards to your soon to start ‘Rath Yatra’. With Congress completely on a backfoot due to corruption issues, but the reports of Narendra Modiji unhappy, with few differences, are not good signs.
It is my personal opinion, in this ‘Rath Yatra’ at some stage of middle to final finish of the Yatra, you must be accompanied by Modiji and Varun Gandhi (his speech in the Monsoon session of the Lok Sabha was very inspiring for the Youth). This way you can project the new lot of leaders in the near future and the far future. Modiji and Varun should now address more of National and World issues.
The core team of Arun Jaitely Sir, Madam Sushma Swaraj, Ghadkariji etc. looks formidable. The need is project and add few more in the core team.
You are always taking RSS guidance, it sets a culture in the BJP. As two icons of BJP, yourself and Atalji are from RSS. RSS needs to facelift itself, with respect to modern evolving Indian Political system.

Sir,
UPA has created a perfect mess and the common man is completely frustrated with this government. However, it depends on the ability of BJP to leverage this discontent prevailing among the masses. It is one thing to expose a government, but it is different ballgame to convert the feeling of dissatisfaction into anti-incumbency.
NDA has been poor in capitalizing its own good work (it lost 2004 elections after a very healthy performance) and its opponent’s pitfalls (Congress increased its tally in 2009).
But, I sincerely hope and pray that BJP will not let the current opportunity falter down.
UP elections are a golden opportunity and the party should concentrate on it with full throttle. Any significant upturn in UP may provide the much needed momentum.
Also, BJP should fight the government not only inside the parliament & on the streets, but also in the courts. It may be nice if the party leaders get directly involved in various legal cases against the UPA.

Respected Advani ji,
As you contineous your rath yatra,UPA is behaving as unresponcible manner ,Seems time has come that this anti people govt should go.
Continue increasing uncontrolled inflation , Purposely increased oil priced by govt.
& indication by PM that other items also will be decontrolled is show lake of
Governance & great SIN towards people of India , It seems purely directorship not
Democracy at all.
Democracy means rule of majority people , majority in India of poor peoples
80% people in India are poor ,than why majority of Rich people is ruling govt.
Is it right in democracy. Rule should be of poor peoples & policies & planning
Should be favor of majority poor peoples.
Jai hind…!

Advani ji,
I read about Dr. Raman Singh , CM of Chattisgarh on Wikipedia. The state under his leadership has got United Nations’ highest award to Chhattisgarh in recognition of its human development model. You should tell people about this. I Madhya Pradesh’s CM is also doing some commenddable job. I would like to request you to notedown individual , specific, concrete achievements of BJP ruled states. and vigourosly advertise and campaign these specific acievements no matter how small they appear.
General slogans of good, corruption free govt are not as effective as individual task accomplished or recognition earned.
And ofcourse zero tolerance for corruption. I also read some news that in Karnataka investigation of corruption cases against Yedurrapaa are being influenced in his favour. Well I think your party should try to find and face the truth no matter how embarassing it is. Your party should not protect corrupt no matter how strong they are.

Dear Mr. Advani, Sushmaji & Mr.Jaitley I don’t agree with many of views of your party, but do respect you as a honest and able administrator and the leading statesman of the country today. I request you to intervene to restore the primacy of the Parliament. It is scary to see this institution succumbing to mob rule. Corruption is a cancer, to be dealt with at once. But giving in to mob sentiments means putting Parliament in deep coma. Not all politicians are corrupt, just as not all NGO’s are angels. If Parliament is representative of our country, then all the good and the bad of this country gets reflected in it in the same proportion. Why should this surprise us? But to demean or to weaken it will be fatal to this nation. Pl act to ensure that the laws are made after due deliberations. Not on the street, not in jantar mantar, not in rajghat.
Pl restore the parliament. Else we are in for dictatorship or, even worse, mobocracy.

Hello Sir,
I am a big fan of Bharatiya Janta Party. My family is also supporting you all by heart. But I am looking for the last 4 5 years you don’t have anything to attract us. Could you please tell me a single benefit of your Rath Yatra or Ram Andolan. Surely We ought to respect God and I am also a great devotee of Ram. When our whole country is suffering from corruption, inflation, crime and other scams, you are thinking of Ram and Shyam. Where is your party? Where is your leader? You don’t have a single leader in UP. Rajnath Singh is busy in doing Prime ministerial activities. It’s rediculous and has to be criticized. I can’t say this is the most strong party of it’s time. We need some agenda, some strong steps from your side. This is the right time to take decisions. I have not seen you in front of media for the last 1 year atleast. Come at front with the issue of Lokpal Bill sir. With in the days you all will be Hero. It doesn’t matter your party is corrupt or not.

Advaniji,
I just want to draw an attention that only one month is remaining in the Assembly Poll in UP but your Party did not release the full ticket to which contituency whom will be candidate. This is ridiculous why ur party is so lazy in this most important state. I suggest u that in Up u will set agenda mosly on polarisation of hindu votes why are ur party is very fearing to raise the issue Hindutva. Your star Pracharak will be Varun Gandhi in western UP and Adityanath in Eastern UP, they are the leader to whoom public likes more. This time no one guess that which party wins or loss but I certainly saying that If u go with good strategy and agenda your party will winning more than 100 seats and the single largest party in the state. But get rid off with that leaders who are trying that Varun Gandhi shall not take thier position in the party.
